Gadget - Fitbit

I've been wearing a Fitbit for over a year now and thought I would review it for those that are looking for something to help with fitness and loosing weight. This is one of those things that I bought long ago and never really used much after the initial fail of 2 months that most people go through. IT seems people will keep something for either 2 weeks or 2 months then fail or loose interest or give up. This was the case for me. However I picked it back up and been wearing it ever seen. It needs to be charged about once a week which is very nice. And usually only take an hour when plugged into the wall outlet.  When I bought it it was about 110 US dollars initially but they have come down in price now and there a several version to choose from now.  I have the simple one as seen here.  I have been thinking about getting the nicer one now that also monitors the pulse.  The initial Fitbit I bought the band broke with in 3 days. I was able to return it and get a new one. I've had this one ever since.  I have gone through 2 bands since then since they do eventually wear out.  There are lots of different color bands now that are available on amazon from 3rd party makers instead of the limited color that FitBit offers.

So I don't use my FitBit the way that others use there. I tend to use to to keep track of my activity level
and for motivation. During the summer I really tend to put it to use and use it to start tracking my walking and running as I will be in better shape to do running. But more so for keeping track of my activitng when getting back into sports and biking. I plan to heavly get back into soccer and outdoor sports that what I used to over the last 10 years. Which has been just about 0 so I have lots of room to grow in this area. My aspiration is to go camping / hiking at least two times a month when I can manage it. Plus I plan to finally make use of MeetUp and meet like minded people.
